  • Originally imported in Europe by ancient Romans, spelt was in fact the main food of Roman legions and it was used to make bread and focaccia. The Italian word for flour (“Farina”) comes from the Italian name of this cereal (“Farro”).
  • This complete mix for bread contains four organic varieties of spelt: spelt, Triticum monococcum, spelt flakes and dried spelt sourdough, which come together in a harmonious blend for homemade bread.
  • Spelt bread prepared with this mix will release intense aromas and will be tasty and fragrant. Moreover, it will be a source of protein and without chemical emulsifiers.
  • The recipe is simple: just add water to the mix, knead and let rise

A delicious and easy to make organic spelt bread

This mix for homemade bread by Ruggeri is complete: it already contains all the ingredients, including yeast and salt. It is very easy to use: just add water and knead. This mix is equipped with the patented Ruggeri Tasca Magica® (Ruggeri Magic Pocket) that separates the yeast from the other ingredients with an internal pocket. In this way, the characteristics of the product are preserved without the use of preservatives. Here's how to use the mix, both kneading by hand and using the bread machine.

Procedure with Bread Machine

Pour 300 ml of lukewarm water into the machine. Pour the entire contents of the two pockets: please empty the Magic Pocket well. Select the preferred program (minimum 2.30 h).

Hand Preparation

Pour 300 ml of lukewarm water into a bowl. Pour in all the contents of the two pockets, emptying the Magic Pocket well, and let stand for 5 minutes. Knead by hand for 10 minutes. If the dough is sticky, grease your hands with olive il. Form one or more loaves, let rise for 110-140 minutes on an oiled baking tray inside the oven turned off. Then, remove the tray, put a small pot of water in the oven and bring to 220°C. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
