And who said that a stuffed sandwich has to be heavy? Just choose Pane Salus, the
light and healthy bread with
oat beta-glucans that help
reduce cholesterol ! 150 g of Pane Salus contain 3 g of oat beta-glucans, the
minimum daily dose to obtain the beneficial effect of reducing cholesterol.
In this recipe, the blogger "Ricette Pausa Pranzo" suggests that we bake a
Salus bread loaf at home - to then prepare a light sandwich for lunch break! Here are all the tips on how to prepare Salus Bread.
Light sandwich ingredients
For the filling
- 2 slices of roast turkey breast
- 1 apple wedge cut into thin slices
- Fennel strips to taste
- 1 lettuce leaf
- Tomato slices to taste
- Almond flakes to taste
Procedure
In a bowl or in a mixer, vigorously mix 345 ml of water with the entire contents of a pack of Ruggeri Salus® Functional Bread mix and knead.
Please note: Salus is a bread rich in fibers that naturally retain a lot of water. Consequently, its dough retains more water than common white bread and is a bit sticky to work. To knead by hand more easily, dust the work surface with a little flour and flour your hands well while you work it.
Once the dough is ready, place it in a plumcake mold and let it rise for about 2 hours. Preheat the oven in static mode at 180° C and cook the Salus Bread for about 25 minutes.
If the bread is still not cooked through after 25 minutes, here are two tips:
- Open the oven door a crack to let steam escape during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Try lowering the oven temperature and extending the cooking time (each oven is different, so it is not possible to give a single indication in minutes).
Remove the bread from the oven and let the loaf cool, then cut it into slices. For the filling, add all the ingredients in layers: the light sandwich will be ready. Enjoy your lunch!
