Quinoa puff pastry is a thin sheet of bread that resembles carasau bread , made (precisely) with quinoa flour. It is quick and easy to prepare and can be enriched with spices according to your preferences. In this recipe from "Delizie & Confidenze" it is prepared with Ruggeri Quinoa Flour .
Ingredients
- 350 g of Ruggeri Quinoa Flour
- 50 ml extra virgin olive oil + more for brushing
- 160 ml of warm water
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- oregano to taste
Procedure for quinoa sheets
- In a bowl, pour the flour and add the salt. Add the oil and gradually pour in the water. Knead everything with your hands until you get a firm and smooth mixture that does not stick to your hands.
- Divide the dough into several pieces. Roll them out one at a time with a rolling pin, until you obtain a very thin sheet, like a veil. Don't worry too much about the shape: the more irregular they are, the more rustic the sheets will be.
- Place each prepared sheet of pastry on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the surface of the sheets with oil and sprinkle with oregano.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for a few minutes, until they are colored.
It is a good idea to monitor the cooking of the sheets of pastry as they are so thin that they can burn easily. - Remove from the oven and serve hot, or store in a paper bread bag.
