Buccellati or cucciddati are a typical Sicilian dessert from the Christmas period: they are shortcrust pastry biscuits filled with figs, dried fruit and chocolate. Ingredients:- 500 g Organic Arifa Flour
- 125 g sugar
- 125 g of lard
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 sachet of instant baking powder
- 5 g of ammonia
- milk
- salt
- 100 g of toasted walnuts
- 100g toasted almonds
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- fig and orange jam
- Toast the walnuts and almonds;
- Pour the fig and orange jam, the dark chocolate pieces, the toasted walnuts and almonds, a teaspoon of cinnamon into a pan and mix everything together;
- leave the mixture to cool in the refrigerator for half an hour;
- Shortcrust pastry: quickly mix flour, granulated sugar, eggs, yeast, lard, a pinch of salt,
- ammonia and milk to taste; knead everything together, roll out the pastry with a rolling pin and fill with the mixture prepared previously;
- Finally cut into pieces and bake.
