Luppy Luppy Donuts are a
fun and colorful snack , perfect for kids! The beauty of this recipe from "La Cucina di Pippicalzina"? It's also quick, because the donuts are baked in the oven in just a few minutes. And they're
light (because they're baked in the oven),
soft and very fragrant !
Ingredients
- 180 ml of milk
- half a cube of brewer's yeast
- 60 g of granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 400 g of Ruggeri Stone Ground Soft Wheat Flour + a little for making the donuts
- 100 g of soft butter
- a vanilla pod
- a pinch of salt
- 120g milk chocolate (or dark)
- colored beans
Procedure for the soft Luppy Luppy Donuts
To make Luppy Luppy Ciambelline, start like this: heat the milk and dissolve the yeast in it. Separately in a bowl or in the mixer put the egg, sugar, and pinch of salt. Mix everything with a spoon. Cut the vanilla bean and remove all its seeds, to put them in the dough. Add the milk and flour and knead vigorously until it is smooth. Now add the butter and continue kneading until it becomes elastic and sticky.
Cover the dough and let it rest for about an hour and a half until it has doubled in volume. Then take the dough and on a floured surface begin to roll it out with a rolling pin to a height of about 1 cm. Use a glass to form the donut circles and use a bottle cap to make the smallest circle in the center of the donut. Continue like this until you have used up all the dough.
Then distribute the Luppy Luppy Ciambelline well spaced on a baking tray covered with baking paper leaving a little space so they don't stick during cooking. Leave to rise again covered with a cloth. After about an hour they will have risen, so bake at 180° for about 15 minutes. Your Luppy Luppy Ciambelline are now ready to be decorated.
Melt the chocolate either in a bain-marie or in the microwave. For a slightly more fluid chocolate, add a few flakes of butter. Take the donuts one by one and dip them on one side in the melted chocolate. Sprinkle with the decorated sugar grains and let dry. Your Luppy Luppy Donuts are now ready!
With these doses you get about 20 medium-sized donuts. The advice is not to halve the dose because they can be frozen!
