Do you know scones? They are semi-sweet rolls that come from England. It is customary to serve them with a cup of tea in the afternoon accompanied by jams, spreadable cheeses, butter and in the savoury version, also with cold cuts and cheeses.
The blogger "Dolci Coccole di Miki" offers us a version of oat scones with Ruggeri Oat Flour , rich in proteins and less caloric than wheat flour.
Ingredients
- 250 g Oat flour
- 180 g Ruggeri type 1 soft wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 150 ml milk (also vegetable milk)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 6 teaspoons brown sugar
- 50 g butter (or margarine)
- 1 vanilla pod
- 50 g chocolate chips
- 50 g almonds
Making oatmeal scones
Pour the flours, sugar, yeast and seeds of a vanilla pod into a bowl.
Add the butter or margarine cut into cubes and work with your fingertips to form crumbs. Make a well and add the egg and milk. Work everything until it forms a smooth dough. It should have a non-sticky consistency. If necessary, add a little more type 1 flour.
Finally, add the chocolate chips and chopped almonds. Incorporate them into the dough. Roll out the dough to a height of 2 cm and, with a glass or a pastry cutter, form the scones. In England, it is also common to cut them into triangles. Place the oat scones on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake at 180 degrees for about twenty minutes.
