Corn (Zea mays L.) is a cereal coming from South America, also known in Italy as “turkish corn”: a name that recalls its exotic origin.
Our Fine Corn Flour is obtained from the innermost part of the corn grain and is characterized by a particularly fine grain size.
It is ideal for the preparation of polenta (a typical Italian boiled cornmeal dish), cakes and corn cookies.
It can also be used for bread making: it is possible to find many recipes for homemade bread, pizza or focaccia made with corn flour.
Fumetto di Mais: an extra-fine corn flour
Our Fine Corn Flour is perfect for the preparation of homemade polenta (a typical Italian boiled cornmeal dish), but also for rustic corn cookies, such as Venetian “Zaleti”. This flour can be used to prepare tasty bread, pizzas and focaccia bread by mixing it with wheat flour. Here is our recipe for making a delicious polenta.
Soft Polenta Recipe - ready in 3 minutes
Pour 600 ml of water and a teaspoon of salt into a pot. When the water boils, remove the pot from the heat. Slowly pour in 100 g Fumetto di Mais Flour, stirring with a whisk. Return the pot to the heat and bring to boil. Cook for 3 minutes.
